The Collaboration GaitBetter was selected out of dozens of vendors by the Israel Ministry of Health to deliver a pilot with Maccabi Health Services, Israel’s second largest HMO, to reduce falls in older adults.
Method 200 older adults that were considered in the ‘medium-to high-risk’ category for falls, participated in the pilot using the GaitBetter VR walking platform.
Conclusion Highly positive clinical and financial outcomes were achieved with reduction in number of falls, emergency room visits and hospitalization days. The successful program has now been rolled out to dozens of Maccabi sites throughout the country and was also selected to serve the largest HMO provider in Israel, Clalit Health Services.
Together, more than 80% of Israel’s adult population now have access to GaitBetter’s digital therapeutic gait rehabilitation and fall prevention solution.
The GaitBetter VR walking platform is currently being rolled out in the USA.
